Bring us up to speed. It's been a LONG time.
Update for 40th:
Still in Portland, although we did move in 2017 to Eugene, but only for a year. Hated it, got out. Now back with family again.
Janet continues her upholstery business. Charlie is the owner of a brew pub, Second Profession Brewing. Bob works for an Adobe company, Marqueto, and in September of 2018 married Kelly. Biggest news is that in late September of this year, we will be blessed with our first grandchild! We spend most of our time building stuff, fixing stuff, planting stuff, and hanging out with friends. The brewery has become a family affair, as Bob hosts trivia night on Wednesday, then Janet and I handle bingo night on Sunday (she sells the cards, I call out numbers and carry on a monologue, because I have the microphone). We watch Packer and Badger games as a family, and Janet and I travel, although our go to destination of Puerto Rico is yet to be on our radar again.
New pics - one is Mother's Day of 2017, when we went to Darcelle's drag show. Darcelle, at the time, was 86, and holds the record for the longest continuous drag show in the world. Bob is next to me, Charlie is next to Janet, Darcelle in the middle, and in front is Kelly on the left, and Hannah (Charlie's girlfriend) on the right. Next is Bob and Kelly's wedding, with Charlie at the right as his best man. And Charlie working at his brew pub while Bob hosts trivia. Plus one hell of a wedding cake.
We had planned on being at the reunion, but circumstances demand that we stay here. I hope that you all have a great time catching up. Ein Prosit!
Janet and I married in 1983, right after graduation from UWM. I was mowing lawns for her little brother at the time. Got a job three weeks later in supervision in the trucking industry, and stayed in that field for 25 years. Moved around Wisconsin (Shorewood, Glendale, La Crosse, Mequon, Appleton), and took a job in Portland, OR. The job didn't work out, but the city did. We have been here since 1997. I'm now with the largest Goodwill in the world, and run the donation, distribution, private fleet, outlet store and salvage operations. We take in 150,000,000 pounds of donated goods a year, and have 40 stores in the Portland area.
Janet runs a furniture upholstery business, and has for over 25 years. She is very successful at it, and has a loyal client base that continues to grow. Her work is exceptional.
Charlie just graduated from Portland State, with a degree in history. Bob is studying communications at the Oregon Institute of Technology. Charlie is a distance runner, Bob is a rugby player. Can't get more opposite than that.
We have a vacation planned for early October, so will not be at the reunion. I'll be there in spirit.
