Yes! Attending Reunion
Bring us up to speed. It's been a LONG time.

Update for 40th:

Still in Portland, although we did move in 2017 to Eugene, but only for a year. Hated it, got out. Now back with family again.
Janet continues her upholstery business. Charlie is the owner of a brew pub, Second Profession Brewing. Bob works for an Adobe company, Marqueto, and in September of 2018 married Kelly. Biggest news is that in late September of this year, we will be blessed with our first grandchild! We spend most of our time building stuff, fixing stuff, planting stuff, and hanging out with friends. The brewery has become a family affair, as Bob hosts trivia night on Wednesday, then Janet and I handle bingo night on Sunday (she sells the cards, I call out numbers and carry on a monologue, because I have the microphone). We watch Packer and Badger games as a family, and Janet and I travel, although our go to destination of Puerto Rico is yet to be on our radar again.

New pics - one is Mother's Day of 2017, when we went to Darcelle's drag show. Darcelle, at the time, was 86, and holds the record for the longest continuous drag show in the world. Bob is next to me, Charlie is next to Janet, Darcelle in the middle, and in front is Kelly on the left, and Hannah (Charlie's girlfriend) on the right. Next is Bob and Kelly's wedding, with Charlie at the right as his best man. And Charlie working at his brew pub while Bob hosts trivia. Plus one hell of a wedding cake.

We had planned on being at the reunion, but circumstances demand that we stay here. I hope that you all have a great time catching up. Ein Prosit!

Janet and I married in 1983, right after graduation from UWM. I was mowing lawns for her little brother at the time. Got a job three weeks later in supervision in the trucking industry, and stayed in that field for 25 years. Moved around Wisconsin (Shorewood, Glendale, La Crosse, Mequon, Appleton), and took a job in Portland, OR. The job didn't work out, but the city did. We have been here since 1997. I'm now with the largest Goodwill in the world, and run the donation, distribution, private fleet, outlet store and salvage operations. We take in 150,000,000 pounds of donated goods a year, and have 40 stores in the Portland area.

Janet runs a furniture upholstery business, and has for over 25 years. She is very successful at it, and has a loyal client base that continues to grow. Her work is exceptional.

Charlie just graduated from Portland State, with a degree in history. Bob is studying communications at the Oregon Institute of Technology. Charlie is a distance runner, Bob is a rugby player. Can't get more opposite than that.

We have a vacation planned for early October, so will not be at the reunion. I'll be there in spirit.

Any favorite high school teachers? Funny memory about them or have a school story?

Random thoughts: Brown pinto, orange Courier, white T Bird. Dan's Buick Apollo. Chuck's car named "Bird Shit". Chris Martin's basement. Dan Pollock's basement. Marathon ping pong games. The Commodores at the Arena. Supertramp at the Arena. Outlaws, Dave Mason, and Elvin Bishop at Alpine Valley. Outlaws and Molly Hatchet at the Varsity. Maynard Ferguson every chance I got. Peaches Records with Billy almost every Sunday. Basketball games at the old U School gym. Many hundreds of games of ultimate, football, three on three softball at Henry Clay, strikeout. Finishing Brad's paper route with him so that we could make an early tee time. Red, White and Blue parties. My folks going out of town. One party where we greeted the Sunday paperboy with refreshments in hand. A friend banging on the door of our neighbor, thinking that it was my house, at 12:30 am. The resulting visit by the police. Cornish game hens on the grill. Turkey on the grill. A poker game where my neighbor threatened Doug with a five iron. My red painted wooden stool as a cocktail table. Battling Tops as a new drinking game. Band trips to Michigan and Florida, where Miles, Simba and I acted as Kentucky Gentlemen (or perhaps Turkeys?). A roadie to La Crosse when I got Dan's Apollo up to 105, but only got a ticket for 72. Hanging our heads out the back of the tailgate of Dan's station wagon on the way back from Germantown at 55 mph. Jamaica, and my four roomates. A flying cockroach getting behind Jeff's glasses at the bar. Eddie's sunburn, one for the ages. The best charter flight, EVER. Vulcan Mindprobes. Glass boots. Zoom, Schwartz, Befigliano, and Cardinal Puff. Driving a motor home to the bar on my 18th birthday (what was my dad thinking?). School bus rides to away football games as a freshman. Barnaby's pizza, and sandwiches coming out of a hole in the wall at Suburpia. Stopping at Schwartzmans with Kortie after practice for junk food before dinner. The creepy as hell tunnel under the fieldhouse. European team handball. Full fieldhouse games of ultimate in gym. Falling down over a hurdle. Hugging my teammates. 1.5 liters. Second period off at my house with Tony and Okie, and my mom serving us breakfast. My mom loving all of my friends. My dad putting up with them in deference to her. Mauthe Lake and Jean's Island in Hustisford. The backyard at Todd Kiehm's party. The signal that was Billy's bedroom shade. Up and light on, good to go. Gunville's vs. Montezuma. George Benson at the PAC. Y Not. Ski Lodge and a birthday party run amok. Pool hopping. Washing apartment windows with the Lux boys. Spaceman falling off the ladder. The Ball Park Special at Pig N' Whistle. Garlic fries by the bag. Max, the coolest dog ever. Barfy and Shithead, the most hyper. Freshman year Turkey Bowl next to Perl's house, in the snow. Turning 18 at Krilly's house, on the night of graduation. Billy's Dasher, Doug's Vega, Janet's LTD, Okie's Cutlass. Whistling Moon Travelers with Report. The party we had at Dan's when Dan wasn't home. Scratchy, the three footer. A Minoqua roady with a trumpet mouthpiece at the bottom of the lake. Dor Dor, the waitress at Ma Fishers. The Avalance and Angelo's. Pizza eating contests at El Caldarone, while the owner stood in the shadows. Wearing a dress to Mike Rater's costume party. Not considering that Janet lived next door, and the response I would get from her father when he saw me wearing a dress. Seeing the pictures later, and thinking that I looked great. Still convinced that I was right. The heart attack that happened when a parent came home unexpectantly. The Northway. Echo Bowl on a snow day.

To those of you that were involved in any of these events, thanks.

ps. Lesson learned for the youngsters - if you are using date night as an opportunity to impress a young lady, "A Clockwork Orange" might not have the desired effect.

It's been great to have folks visit Portland and look us up. We have plenty of room, so if you are ever out this way, we have a place for you.
